Daisy Kynd and her father, August, run F & D Kennels, a unique sanctuary built on an old converted barn where greyhounds are trained and rehabilitated with love instead of force. Dedicated to giving neglected animals a fresh start, their quiet lives are disrupted by the arrival of Thunder and Lightning—two severely abused rescues carrying physical and emotional scars. While Thunder slowly warms up to the family, Lightning remains completely terrified of men, finding solace only by Daisy's side.

Just as a fragile trust begins to build, tragedy strikes the sanctuary. During a routine practice run, an act of cruel sabotage causes a horrific accident on the track, leaving multiple dogs seriously injured.

As the local community rallies to treat the animals, a tense police investigation unfolds to track down the perpetrator. Amidst the chaos, an inquisitive reporter named Clay Stone arrives to cover the facility. What starts as a standard interview quickly evolves into a dual mission: helping Daisy manage an influx of new rescues while uncovering the dark mystery behind the track attack. Along the way, unexpected romantic sparks ignite, showing that love really can heal all wounds.
