#2 I was in Atlanta with my best friend, Bugus, who was rapping. We needed to get on MTV, so we went to California. We crashed with Bugus’s brother in his studio apartment, which was so small that he had a Murphy bed.

#3 I spent years working on my music in my parents’ basement. While I was waiting for my music to be recognized, I wrote signs around my room, hanging them up like a gallery, and believing that my music was amazing and that I was already successful.

#4 When you externalize your goals, you are making them real. You are documenting the before so that you can look back and say, I knew it all along. You need to believe that you are successful so deeply that you are just waiting for the world to catch up.
