The Storm

A storm takes everything. But can hope rise from the wreckage?

In 1881, a violent storm ravages the Scottish fishing village of Eyemouth, leaving devastation in its wake. Newlywed Rosabelle Maltman loses her husband, while her mother-in-law, Effie, is left to grieve not only her husband but all three of her sons. Across the close-knit community, families are shattered, and life will never be the same again.

Yet as the months pass and the village begins to rebuild, Rosabelle, Effie, and the other women left behind must find the strength to move forward. Through love, resilience, and an unbreakable bond, they must learn to embrace the future—even when it seems impossible.

A powerful and heart-wrenching saga based on true events, perfect for fans of Ellie Dean, Anna Jacobs, and "Outlander."

Elisabeth McNeill was born in Fife and spent her childhood in Scotland. She is a journalist and prolific writer of fiction and non-fiction.
