Story One – The Lake Baikal Swimmers There are countless myths and legends associated with Russia’s sprawling Lake Baikal — from reports of a mythical monster to a hidden fortune in missing treasure. But by far the most intriguing of such tales is an alleged encounter between the Soviet army and members of a mysterious underwater race. Story Two – The Baltic Sea Anomaly During the summer of 2011, a commercial dive team encountered a mysterious sonar contact, straddling the sea floor in the northernmost reaches of the Baltic Sea. Since it was discovered, this object has continued to defy all attempts to uncover its origins.
