The Father of Dragons and Fingolfin's Desperate Attack — pg 150-154 — Episode 42

Fingolfin, king of the Noldor, urges the people of Beleriand to unite in battle against Morgoth, but few heed his call. Morgoth launches an all-out assault, sending rivers of fire through the northern lands and massive armies of dragons, Balrogs, and orcs, thus beginning the fourth great battle, Dagor Bragollach, “the Battle of Sudden Flame”. Fingolfin, seeing that Dorthonion is lost, flies to the very doors of Anbgand and challenges Morgoth to single combat.

He passed over Dor-nu-Fauglith like a wind amid the dust, and all that beheld his onset fled in amaze, thinking that Oromë himself was come: for a great madness of rage was upon him, so that his eyes shone like the eyes of the Valar.
