Deep in the merciless heart of the Sahara, at the remote Fort Ney and scorching heat, the sadistic Sergeant Duparne oppress the men of the French Foreign Legion. Duparne’s cruelty knows no bounds, and the men, already broken by the unforgiving desert, are further humiliated and tortured daily. The South African Joos Janse, a man of courage and insight, decides enough is enough. Caught between saving the fort and the Bormoen’s revenge, Joos must make an almost impossible choice. His leadership is tested to the extreme as he devises a desperate, life-threatening plan to save not only his men but perhaps even the unsuspecting Fort Ney from certain doom. Will these mutineers become heroes, or will the desert and its secrets ultimately claim them?
