This book is rough to get through at times, not because it's badly written, on the contrary. Tiffany D. Jackson explores the path leading from what seems like the opportunity of a lifetime to horrific abuse and the fallout of that. I felt for Enchanted so much. And I was so mad that a system like this is still upheld to this day. A system that allows powerful man to abuse women and then blames the abuse on them. But don't expect a book that's just preaching its morals to you. All of the thought-provoking stuff comes naturally from characters' voices. And the story itself is a damn good thriller with twists that you don't see coming but are foreseeable in hindsight.
