Heroine is based on the true story of Danna Davis and her 10 years in the US Army. A survivor of military sexual trauma, hers is a human story exploring healing, forgiveness and what speaking your truth really means - with grit, lyricism and necessary black humour. On a dangerous mission inside a combat zone, Sgt Davis must work with the perpetrator of her sexual attack to get her squad home safely. Is peace possible? This audiobook is more of a fully realised radio drama, with FULLY IMMERSIVE SOUND DESIGN from sound designer and foley artist Heather Andrews, and narration from Audie Award Winning narration Mary Jane Wells. Heroine began as Wells' award-winning solo performance, winning a Scottish Theatre Arts Trust Award and a Made in Scotland Award on its World Premiere at Assembly Rooms, in The Edinburgh Festival 2018.
