Chichen Itza

Chichen Itza was one of the largest Maya cities.The Cenote Sagrado was a place of pilgrimage for ancient Maya people who. Countless sacrifices has been laid here. Thousands of objects have been removed from the bottom of the cenote: gold, carved jade, pottery, flint, obsidian, shell - all were pledged to the god in hope for benevolence. Other findings are much grimmer and send chills right down our spines as we learn of skeletons of children and men retrieved from the cenote.
