Mary Shelley started writing the story when she was just eighteen.The novel follows Victor Frankenstein who creates a monster from various body parts. The monster is rejected by Frankenstein and society, and eventually goes on a killing spree. Frankenstein is an important novel because it deals with the idea of creating life and the consequences of playing God.
