This was, by far, the best of the books about River - Wild so far, with a smother flow than the previous two, but, there is also the unfortunate time-jumps in the storyline that had me skipping back and forth to backtrack and “remember” what had happened previously in each timeline. Also, as the pacing felt too slow in some chapters, though greatly improved in most, the last 30 % of the book felt like a recap of things untold and was almost rattled off as if the author had a check list. A real shame since I, the clingy and nervous reader, having just spent hours and hours in slow paced emotional torture with a minimal pay off of small and proportions. I wanted to “be there” when all the rewards of their relationship finally came to life. I feel a little snubbed and cheated out of that gooey lovey dovey stuff synonymous with a great HEA. So there. It IS a good read and enjoyable - and very progressive and female-centric without loosing any of those well appreciated Alpha-male vibe.
