This story is romantic and funny and cute. Not much drama, or more like short bursts of drama that are quickly resolved. It’s a bit predictable but never boring. The language (mostly Courtney’s expressions) sometimes made me laugh out loud. A big part of the story is Courtney’s insecurities and low self esteem, and how it complicates things for her both privately and professionally. Tropes/tags:enemies to lovers story, forced proximity, fake dating, chronic illness/autoimmune disease, dog lover deluxe 🤎, a bit of mutual pining.

    Förvirrande

The author's note in the end is about the author wanting to write a story of female empowerment and to send the message that "you're good enough as you are". However the message I got from the book was the total opposite. The FMC has low self-esteem and low sense of self worth. It's only when a man tells her that she's good enough that she starts to believe it too. And to boot, that man is of course perfect - handsome, successful and has the patience of a monk. And he still somehow is attracted to a woman who doesn't even like herself. I'm sorry but I call bullsh*t.
