In this book, you will not find me oversimplifying things. I’ve been there before. As a teenager I had trouble making friends, I was scared of being in crowds, I found it hard to talk to people. I understand the feeling of hating yourself because you just can’t seem to do the right thing. I understand how it feels like to wish I would sleep at night and not wake up the next morning. I’m not going to tell you that all you need is to love yourself, that’s irresponsible.

Don’t get me wrong. You need to learn to love yourself. You recognize that too and that’s why you’re still reading. However, I’m not going to be judgmental in this book. At least I tried not to be.

I know you may be having doubts about getting this book. You’ve probably bought other books before that simply told you over and over that you just have to tell yourself that you love yourself every day. I think that’s simply lazy and irresponsible and I’m not going to suggest that in this book. I’m not going to talk to you like I’m looking down on you. I’m going to stay right at your level throughout this book.’
