#1 The town of Buford, Georgia, is close to Lake Lanier. It is surrounded by other small townships, such as Flowery Branch, Sugar Hill, and Suwanee. It is very close to the border between Gwinnett and Forsyth counties.

#2 The Corbins were a family that lived at 4515 Bogan Gates Drive. They were a team, with Bart and Jenn being referred to as Bart-n-Jenn by their friends. Jenn had struggled to maintain the façade that kept the foundering state of her marriage virtually invisible to the outside world.

#3 Jenn had tried to understand her husband’s behavior, and had forgiven him for betrayals most other women would not put up with. She had been halfway through completing the decorations on a tall tree in the Corbins’ formal dining room.

#4 When Kelly came across the dead body of her friend, Jennifer Corbin, she called 911. She told the radio operator that there was a dead woman in the house across the street. Patrol officers Wright and Johns were the first to arrive.
