Trading Bots for Non-Coders: The Plain-English Path from Idea to Automation with AI Tools and Basic Python

You do not need to arrive as a programmer to begin learning how a trading bot works. You do need a clear idea, a willingness to test it, and a way to understand what your tools are doing. Trading Bots for Non-Coders connects those first steps in plain English, introducing AI-assisted coding and basic Python through practical projects that start with market data and simulated trading.

Written for adults who find technical jargon discouraging, this guide explains the toolkit before asking you to build with it. APIs, brokerage connections, prompts, alerts, and trading signals are introduced as parts of a manageable workflow. You will follow examples involving moving averages and RSI, then explore how historical tests and performance measurements can reveal weaknesses that a successful demonstration alone would miss.

Inside, you will discover: • Understand what trading bots do and which responsibilities remain with you. • Choose a toolkit and learn APIs, market data, and basic Python concepts. • Write clearer prompts for an AI coding copilot and inspect its output. • Develop alerts and explore moving-average and RSI strategy examples step by step. • Investigate backtests and performance measures while recognizing their assumptions and limitations. • Examine risk controls, brokerage connections, and cryptocurrency access through CCXT. • Plan scheduling, automation, troubleshooting, and a journal for continuing evaluation.

The later material expands the project into cryptocurrency connections, scheduling, automation, and an ongoing trading journal. Risk management, common mistakes, security, and the decision to go live remain part of the discussion throughout. AI is presented as a copilot whose suggestions deserve inspection, not a substitute for understanding your rules. The book gives you a vocabulary for investigating problems and a sequence for learning through small, reviewable experiments.

Start with one task you can describe clearly, such as retrieving a price or producing an alert. Build your understanding as you add features and evaluate their behavior. Whether you want to explore automation as a hobby or assess the work involved in a more serious project, this guide helps you ask better questions, recognize important limits, and keep testing ahead of confidence. No strategy or tool can guarantee investment results.
