At the Mountains of Madness is a science fiction-horror novel by American author H. P. Lovecraft. These events include the discovery of an ancient civilization older than the human race, and realization of Earth's past told through various sculptures and murals. Howard Phillips Lovecraft (1890–1937) was an American author of horror, fantasy, poetry and science fiction, especially the subgenre known as weird fiction.
