History Behind Naradhar's Narayana

Naradhar or Narad Muni, is a god-sage, famous in Hindu traditions as a travelling musician and storyteller, who carries news and enlightening wisdom. He is one of mind-created children of Brahma, the creator. He appears in a number of Hindu texts, notably the Mahabharata, telling Yudhishtira the story of Prahlada and the Ramayana as well as in the Puranas. Once God decided that it was time for him to descend to earth to set matters right, most lesser Gods came down to like someone or the other to aid and enjoy a ringside view of epochal events. He is also referred to as Rishiraj, meaning the king of all sages or rishis. He was gifted with the boon of knowledge, past, present and future. In Indian texts, Narada travels to distant worlds and realms. He is depicted carrying a khartal (musical instrument) and veena with the name Mahathi and is generally regarded as one of the great masters of the ancient musical instrument. This instrument is known by the name "mahathi" which he uses to accompany his singing of hymns, prayers and mantras. In the Vaishnavism tradition of Hinduism, he is presented as a sage with devotion to Lord Vishnu. In this audio MR G.Gnanasambandan is going to describe the history behind naradhar's narayana.

நாரதர் அல்லது நாரத முனி, வைஷ்ணவ சமயத்தின் ஒரு உன்னதமான முனிவர் ஆவார். இவரைப் பற்றியச் சிறப்புகள் பாகவதப் புராணம், ராமாயணம், போன்ற புராணங்களில் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஆகமவிதிகளைப்பற்றி நாரதர் எழுதிய பஞ்சரத்ரா எனும் நூலே வைணவ மூர்த்தங்களுக்கு பூசைசெய்யும் முறைகளை விளக்கியுள்ளது. ஹரே கிருஷ்ணா இயக்கத்தினர் மத்தியில் இந்நூல் மிகவும் முக்கியமானது, காரணம் அவர்களும் இதே நாரதக் குருப் பரம்பரையில் வந்தவர்களே. நாரதர் எப்பொழுதும் தன்னுடன் ஒரு வீணையும் வைத்திருப்பார். நாராயண என்ற விஷ்ணுவின் நாமத்தை சர்வ காலமும் சொல்லும் இவரது பக்திக்கு ஈடு இணை கிடையாது. பக்தி யோகா முறையையும், நாரத பக்தி சூத்திரங்களையும் இவர் இயற்றியுள்ளார். நாரதஷ்ம்ரிதி எனும் தருமசாச்திரத்தையும் இவர் வழங்கியுள்ளார். இதுவே துறவறம் மற்றும் தவத்தின் முறைகளை எடுத்தியம்புகிறது. நாரதரின் நாராயண மந்திரம் பற்றி பேராசிரியர் முனைவர் கு. ஞானசம்பந்தன் விரிவாக விவரிக்கிறார்.
