Summary of Lee Strobel's The Case for Christ

#1 I decided to test the claims of Christianity. I was sure that Jesus would agree with me. The real Jesus, I was confident, would roll over in his grave if he knew people were worshiping him.

#2 The Bible is the sourcebook for what Christians believe about Jesus. I suspected that Christians had misread the Bible, and that other people had made claims for Jesus that Jesus himself would never back up. If I could demonstrate from the Bible itself that Jesus never claimed to be God, then I wouldn’t have to go any further.

#3 The Bible claims that Jesus has certain characteristics that make him God. If these claims are true, then Jesus must be God. To test whether Jesus is God, you must see if he measures up to these attributes.

#4 The titles Christ and Son of the living God are not necessarily interpreted to mean God in the New Testament. Some of Jesus’ statements don’t seem to be clear claims that he is God.
