The complete series of Father Christmas letters written by JRR Tolkien for his own children between 1920 and 1943.
Can you imagine writing to Father Christmas and actually getting a reply? Every year, the children of J.R.R. Tolkien would write to Father Christmas, and the letters they received told wonderful stories of his adventures at the North Pole. These humorous tales are brought to life by Derek Jacobi as Father Christmas, John Moffatt as Polar Bear, and Christian Rodska as Ilbereth the Elf, complete with specially composed music.

Ontzettend leuk om de brieven zo te horen! Ze worden super leuk voorgelezen en de creativiteit van Tolkien blijft me verbazen.

How can you make your children look forward to Christmas every year? By pretending that you are Santa Claus himself and that's exactly what Tolkien did. He wrote his children Christmas letters for more then 20 years straight. Santa Claus(or the master of storytelling himself) described all his yearly adventures very detailed and did this with a lot of humour. The life of a Santa Claus is anything but boring. Wars with goblins who want to steal the children their gifts, a clumsy polar bear who seems to attract a lot trouble...Wonderful book, suitable for children of all ages and the adult Tolkien lovers.

Voor fans van Tolkien echt een must maar voor mensen die van kerstverhalen houden ook. Alleen de muziek in het luisterboek zelf is best wel irritant dat weet je op een gegeven moment wel...
