Jimmy Wood moved to Karst Valley, Indiana for the quiet life he had always craved. He was raising his family, dealing with everyday problems, and working a mundane job for a boss he hated.

Far-off internet rumors began to swirl as government officials promised nothing was wrong. Suddenly, an unexplained fever. Masses of people wandering aimlessly in the streets. As the world begins crumbling around him, Zack Wolf, an old friend with a classified background, shows up at his door unannounced. Together, they try to survive from enemies on all fronts. The sick, known to Zack and Jimmy as lurkers, are only a small part of the battle that they must fight. Hunting, scavenging, and protecting their family keeps them occupied until a stranger shows up while they are gone. That sets off a chain of events that reveals a conspiracy no one suspected.

Survival in a collapsed world is hard enough. Lurkers don’t make it easier. Now they embark on a pursuit to uncover information that would have left the community in shock. With no community left, they must make a choice: Do what’s right or keep their heads down and just survive?
