#1 I was eager to prove I belonged at my first job out of college. I spent a lot of money on my breakfast meetings, which consisted of providing breakfast for the staff. I made two types of stuffed french toast for the staff, without any instructions.

#2 I was so embarrassed by the fact that my breakfast was not only disgusting, but also that I had tried to be impressive by cooking it, that I almost quit my job.

#3 When you care about something, you try to do it well. When you care about everything, you do nothing well, which then compels you to try even harder. Welcome to being tired.

#4 Perfectionism is the belief that you need to be perfect in order to be loved, and that if you’re not perfect, you’re not worthy of love. Perfectionism leads to trying hard to impress others, but it also takes up more energy than you can handle.
