Daniel Deronda is a novel by George Eliot, published in 1876. It tells the story of Daniel Deronda, a young Jewish man who discovers his true heritage and becomes involved in the Jewish nationalist movement. The novel also follows Gwendolen Harleth, a young woman who marries a wealthy but disreputable man and faces a moral crisis.

The two characters' paths intertwine as they grapple with issues of identity, class, and social justice. The novel explores themes of destiny, free will, and the complexities of human relationships.
