Across seven tales, Haruki Murakami brings his powers of observation to bear on the lives of men who, in their own ways, find themselves alone. Here are vanishing cats and smoky bars, lonely hearts and mysterious women, baseball and the Beatles, woven together to tell stories that speak to us all. Marked by the same wry humor that has defined his entire body of work, in this collection Murakami has crafted another contemporary classic.

This is absolutely mind-blowing! A set of beautifully woven stories of men without women in their lives. Each character in every story has so much depth and the narration is on point. I'm glad I picked this up as my first Haruki Murakami book. Everyone, be it men or women, should read this book:)

“Men without Women” is a collection of 7 brilliantly written short stories by the highly accomplished Japanese Author Haruki Murakami. Story of 7 men who have lost their women to death or to another men and are leading a secluded life. Each story deals with loneliness of a different kind. There’s so much awe inspiring philosophy in a #Murkami book that you just can’t keep wondering how brilliant a writer he is. Each story is unusual and unique. I thoroughly enjoyed all 7 because each offered something for the soul but if I have to pick any one then DRIVE My Car would make it to the top. This is a story of an old actor who lost his wife to a disease and now in his 50s he feels the loss even more. While we marvel at the storyline which is so unpredictable, the choice of words in these stories is simply astounding .There is so much in each written sentence that you simply cannot rush through the book.

It's a good book. I won't say best of his work, still I would like to believe it was a good read. I loved the narration though!
