1001 CE. Chōḷa king Rājarāja is on his way to Pāṇḍya capital Madurai. Enroute, he decides to stay at Kodumbālūr, the city of Vēlirs and meet his old merchant friend who is well versed with the political situation at Mahōdayapura, capital of Chēras. What he doesn't realize yet is that his Madurai trip is about to become much more significant than what he had originally envisioned.
