#1 In 2020, Bernie would be a top-tier candidate, if not the front-runner. While Hillary had attacked Bernie’s policies in 2016 as a naïve wish list, between Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, and Cory Booker, every one of his significant initiatives had the support of other candidates.

#2 In late January 2018, Bernie held a meeting in Washington to discuss how a new campaign for president might take shape. If neither Biden nor Warren entered the race, Bernie would be the clear leader in Iowa from the start.

#3 During the condo meeting, we went over various fundraising, organizing, and television presentations. We discussed how Bernie would win young voters of all races, but older African African American voters remained a challenge.

#4 To defeat Trump, who was viewed as the most dangerous president in American history, Bernie felt that a campaign built on energy and enthusiasm would be necessary. If Bernie Sanders didn’t believe he was the best candidate to take on Trump, he would support the candidate who could win.
