#1 I was having the time of my life in Rome, and if somebody wanted me to interrupt it, I wanted name, rank, and serial number. I was not going to leave Rome for anything less than a guaranteed part, and a good one.

#2 Charlie Fawcett was my favorite actor to work with. He was a good actor who treated acting as a bit of a lark. He was also a man of experience, a man of the world, and I was a spirited Jewish girl from Seattle who’d had sex only once in her life.

#3 I was not interested in getting involved with a married man, and I felt that if I enjoyed his company, I should get to know him better before jumping into anything.
