#1 Thelma was in love with her therapist, and she told me so in the first session. She handed me two old photos of a young beautiful dancer and a 60-year-old stolid woman. Thelma had not tended to her appearance in years.

#2 I had difficulty imagining the shabby old woman having an affair with her therapist, but I kept my opinions to myself. Thelma raved about her therapist, Matthew, for several minutes. She said he had so much caring and loving.
