ABOUT THE ORIGINAL BOOK

"The Miniaturist" by Jessie Burton is set in 17th-century Amsterdam, where young Nella Oortman arrives as a bride to a wealthy merchant, Johannes Brandt. Her new life is not what she expects, and she quickly realizes that the Brandt household is full of secrets and complex relationships.

Nella receives a miniature house as a wedding gift, which mirrors the lives of the inhabitants of the house. As new miniatures arrive, they seem to foreshadow future events, leading Nella to seek answers and unravel the mysteries surrounding her. The story explores themes of secrecy, societal expectations, and the search for identity in a rigid and prejudiced society.
