Well I can't believe I left this beauty too as half read. Other Words for Home by @jasminewargabooks is a beautiful children's fiction. But I didn't mind reading it because it has some bold topics and I fell in love with the cover itself.Jude is a Syrian girl who left her home and went to America with her mother, in order to avoid the atrocities faced there. But is life easy as an immigrant? That is what this book talks about. She describes her experiences in America, with cousins, with classmates, and with the outside worldwith tonnes of emotions. 'A safe home' is what she wanted, even while she missed the beauty of her own country all along. The Islamophobia that is talked about very boldly and shown how wrong it is, is something I admired. The main topic here revolves about HIJAB. A hijab is not oppression for all the Muslim women, is what Jasmine states again and again to make it clear to the outside world. The emotions in this book are so realistic.

Amazingly written. It is simple yet profound. It touches on various concepts like Islamophobia, hijab, the sense of identity and belonging. An essential read for everyone.

Love this beautiful story of a Syrian girl who developed herself after being an immigrant of the western country without leaving her culture &hometown identity. Can't Express how much impact judeh left on my heart. This story will stay in my mind for long time.
