“Come on Lex. Give me more than that. This is New York. Everyone’s ambitious. Everyone wants to make it to the top. Have you got what it takes, Lex?”

“Yes, sir. I’m ambitious enough to do what it takes.”

That seemed to please him and he settled back in his chair, appraising me.

“Good. That’s the attitude we like around here. Stand up. I want to look at you.” He ordered.

I suddenly felt a knot in my stomach.

“Take off your jacket.”

“Excuse me?”

“Hurry up, I’m not asking for a strip tease!”
