"A Comedy in Rubber" is a short story by O. Henry first published in 1881. It tells the tale of two people, William Pry and Violet Seymour, who fall in love but miss their own wedding as they are too busy watching accidents and unusual events. William Sydney Porter (September 11, 1862 - June 5, 1910), better known by his pen name O. Henry, was an American writer born in Greensboro, NC, known primarily for his short stories, though he also wrote poetry and non-fiction. O.
