अवधूत डोंगरे या तरुणाने लिहिलेल्या या गोष्टी 2008-09 मध्ये साधना साप्ताहिकातून प्रसिद्ध झाल्या आणि त्यानंतर दहा वर्षांनी साधना प्रकाशनाकडून पुस्तकरुपाने आल्या. साधारण पाचवी-सातवीतल्या एका मुलाच्या या गोष्टी आहेत. आजूबाजूच्या गोष्टींमधून काहीतरी 'तात्पर्य' काढायला त्याला मजा वाटते. म्हणून तो खूप अंदाज बांधून तात्पर्य काढत राहतो. तर, अंदाज बांधत-बांधत तात्पर्य काढण्याच्या या मुलाच्या सवयीतून तयार झालेल्या या गोष्टी. या गोष्टी लिहिल्या तेव्हा अवधूत हा पत्रकारितेचा विद्यार्थी होता. आता त्याची ओळख स्वतंत्र कादंबऱ्या लिहिणारा लेखक आणि गहण- गंभीर पुस्तकांचे अनुवाद करणारा अनुवादक अशी दुहेरी आहे. त्याला साहित्य अकादमीचा युवा पुरस्कारही मिळालेला आहे. मात्र त्याचे प्रसिद्ध झालेले खऱ्या अर्थाने हे पहिलेच लेखन आहे.

Written by a young Avdhoot Dongre, these stories were published in Sadhana Weekly in 2008-09. A decade later, these were published as a book by Sadhana Publications. These are stories of a fifth or sixth grader boy. He enjoys drawing conclusions or understanding “Gists” out of things and happenings around him. He develops a habit of drawing conclusions by building assumptions and possibilities. These are the stories that happened because of his habit of drawing these conclusions. Avdhoot Dongre was a student of Journalism when he wrote these stories. Now he is known as an author of originals and translator of important and thought provoking literature. Avdhoot has also won the Sahitya Akademi Youth Award. However, ‘Tatparya’ remains his first publication in the true sense.
