The Lost Summers

Dr. Della James always knew she’d die because of a dog.

She just didn’t know it would be a ghost dog.

Lured to the haunted island home of the abandoned girls camp by the ghost dog, Della discovers a body sealed in a fuel barrel, hauntingly preserved. When the identity of the victim is revealed to be a local girl presumed drowned in the summer of 1984, Della refuses to get involved in the investigation after her last one ended in a small bit of gunfire.

But when the girl’s ghost manifests on the island, calling for help, Della is the only one who can hear her.

Despite her attempts not to, Della is drawn deeper into the decades-old mystery when she starts to uncover the dangerous truth of what really happened at the camp all those long, lost summers ago. But just when she feels the answers are within her grasp, her ability to speak to the dead suddenly malfunctions, leaving Della in a vulnerable and perilous limbo.

Can she recover her ability before it’s too late? Or will she be forced to face her own dangerous truths in order to unmask a killer?
