This is a story that encompasses the rigmarole of life of a family afflicted by the horrors of partition. A tale so beautifully told that the listener could only stop to mull over the fickle nature of familial relationships, wherein a single act of omission or commission ends up destabilising the 'foundation' on which it stands. But, if we are to dutifully folllw the message of the book in creating lasting relationships, the ties thus created would bring us less pain and more happiness.
