Sadly, it does and the events that follow rock all of Cissy’s world. First, Cissy’s close friend, Dolly, is evacuated then almost all of Cissy’s family are killed in an air raid. Cissy finds herself fighting an inner battle with herself to try and come to terms with the new life that was thrust upon her by events she can’t control.
