To be honest, it was the title that attracted me. I'm not into audio stories generally. I love to read a story visually, the words creating an aural buzz in my mind. I like the shape of words, their arrangement in harmony, their equipoise like a well-appointed drawing room. I want the words to touch me, pull me magnetically into their heart, wowing me at the magical unravelling of imagination.Why then was I at Storytel, an app with thousands of audio stories? Because the title grabbed me. *Why I Killed My Husband* To confess frankly, I had felt that murderous urge every time my husband behaved like a dolt. But then the fear of cockroaches in a prison deterred me.Coming back to Anita Nair, the quality of her tonal inflections while she read, exploited the story all the more. It was not like reading a dumb page. Her voice conveyed the feelings and attitude of her protagonist with unmistakable accuracy. It's a great read and I was happy she finally killed the husband.
