Valmiki Ramayanam (Uttara kanda) - వాల్మీకి రామాయణం (ఉత్తర కాండ)

Ramayana is one of the greatest epics, ascribed to Maharishi Valmiki. It narrates the life of Rama, a legendary prince of Ayodhya in the kingdom of Kosala. The holy scripture was translated into Telugu by Sripada Subrahmanya Sastry. Sripada translated all Khandas (parts) in Telugu in his style. The final one is Uthara Khanda. In this part, Ravana wins over Yama Dharma Raja, Meghanath catches Indra, Seetha leaving for the forest and settles at Valmiki's Ashram, the birth of LavaKusa, Rama performing Ashwamedha Yagam, Seetha entering into the Earth, Lavakusa becoming Kings and Lord Sriram going back to heaven are discussed.

రామాయణం ఆదికావ్యం గా పిలవబడుతుంది. వాల్మీకి మహర్షి రచించిన ఈ ఆది కావ్యాన్ని రచయిత శ్రీపాద సుబ్రహ్మణ్యశాస్త్రి గారు వాల్మీకి ఏకాండకు ఆకాండ తెలుగులో వచనానువాదం చేశారు. అందులో చివరిది ఉత్తర కాండ. దేవతలు శ్రీమన్నారాయణుని శరణు పొందడం, రావణుడు యముణ్ణి జయించడం, మేఘనాధుడు ఇంద్రుణ్ణి పట్టుకోవడం, భద్రుడు రామునకు పౌరాపవాదు చెప్పడం, లక్ష్మణుడు సీతను తీసుకుని అడవులకు బయలుదేరడం, సీతను వాల్మీకి ఆశ్రమంలో చేర్చడం, కుశలవులు పుట్టడం, అశ్వమేధ ప్రయత్నాలు, సీత పవిత్రురాలు అని వాల్మీకి ఘఫోషించడం, భూదేవి వచ్చి సీతను తీసుకుపోవడం, యముడు రామునితో బ్రహ్మ మాటలు చెప్పడం, కుశలవుల పట్టాభిషేకం, రామాదుల స్వర్ణారోహణం తో ఈ ఖాండ ముగుస్తుంది.
