Prajala Manishi - ప్రజల మనిషి

ప్రజల మనిషి అనే ఈ నవల తెలంగాణ తొలి నవల గా పేరు సంపాదించింది. ఈ నవలని రాసింది వట్టికోట ఆళ్వారుస్వామి. నిజాం కాలపు తెలంగాణ జీవితాన్ని సమర్థంగా చూపిన నవలగా ఈ 'ప్రజల మనిషి' మన్ననలు పొందింది. తెలంగాణ ప్రాంతం గురించి ఎన్నో కొత్త విషయాలను, గొప్ప విషయాలను మనకి ఈ నవల చెప్తుంది అనడం లో ఎటువంటి అతిశయోక్తి లేదు. ఈ కథ నిజామాబాద్ జిల్లాలో దిమ్మెగూడెం ఓ పల్లెటూరు లో, ఆ ఊరి దొర రాంభూపాల్ రావు చుట్టూ జరుగుతుంది. అతను గ్రామప్రజల ఆస్తులు, శ్రమ వంటివి దోచుకుతింటూంటాడు. ఆ సమయం లో రాంభూపాల్ రావు తన అల్లుణ్ణి బిడ్డతో పంపే సమయంలో వారికి అరణంగా ఆవును తోలించాలని అనుకున్నాడు. రైతు కోటయ్య ఆవు మీద భూపాల్ కన్ను పడగా, అతనేమీ చేయలేని నిస్సహాయ స్థితి లో ఉంటాడు. అలా కథని ముందుకు సాగిస్తూ తెలంగాణ ప్రాంతాన్ని గొప్పగా వర్ణించాడు రచయిత. శ్రీ పొట్టిశ్రీరాములు తెలుగు విశ్వవిద్యాలయం ఈ నవలను ఆంగ్లంలోనికి అనువదించింది.

Prajala Manishi is known as the first novel of Telangana. Vattikoti Alwaruswamy is the writer. In this novel, he tried to depict the then situations of the Nizam rule in the Telangana state. The story has met with wide critical acclaim from many and stood also as an inspiration. The story starts in a village called Dimmagudem in the Nizamabad district. The story of Prajala Manishi depicts the societal conditions existing in those times which move us emotionally. The writing style of Alwaru Swamy is very simple yet effective. The story revolves around Ram Bhupal Rao, the cruel village head who does not let the villagers live in peace. Sri Potti Sriramulu university translated the novel to English.
