When the present novel ‘Chenghiz Khan’ was serialized in Andhra Patrika, a friend of the author Tenneti Suri asked him: ‘Is it really the story of Changhiz Khan’s life or is it a commentary on contemporary politics?’. Tenneti Suri writes a reply in the introduction to the novel. He writes, ‘The rotten politics of the 12th and 13th centuries in Asia (that caused the rise of the great power called Chenghiz Khan) are similar to the global politics today.’ Chenghiz Khan was first published as a novel in 1956.
