കഥയുടെ മുക്കാൽ ഭാഗവും തുടർന്നറിയാനുള്ള ആകാംക്ഷ ഉളവാക്കിയിരുന്നു. പക്ഷേ ലൂക്കോസിന്റെ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തൽ മുതൽ കഥ തികച്ചും അവിശ്വസനീയമായി. ചെസിൽ നിന്നും സ്വർണ്ണമുണ്ടാക്കുന്നതും കള്ളക്കടത്തുകാരുടെ കൂടെ മെൽബണിൽ എത്തിയതും എല്ലാം യുക്തിക്ക് നിരക്കാത്തതായി. എന്തായാലും ഇത്രയൊക്കെ കുഴഞ്ഞുമറിഞ്ഞ രീതിയിൽ ഒരു കഥയെഴുതിയ രഞ്ജുവിനെ അഭിനന്ദിക്കാതെ വയ്യ.
