    മംഗലശേരി തറവാട് കണ്ണുമുന്നിൽ കാണുന്നതുപോലെ. കുഞ്ഞൻ, സുമതി, വസുമതി, രാമചന്ദ്രൻ, ഭാസ്കരൻ, കല്യാണി ഇവരെല്ലാം മനസ്സിൽ സ്ഥാനം പിടിച്ചവർ. പദ്മനാഭൻ നായർ വിചാരിച്ചതുപോലെയല്ല. പറങ്കി പുണ്ണ് സപ്ലയർ എവിടെയോ എന്തോ. വിവരണം ആദ്യം ഇഷ്ടമായില്ലേലും പിന്നീട് വന്നപ്പോൾ ഒത്തിരി ഇഷ്ടമായി. സജികുമാർ പോത്തെൻകോഡ് കലക്കി

    The book is about the Nair fuedalism, rivalry and untouchability which was prevalent in Kerala till 1950s. The fall of two Nair families because of the enimities, the rise of Ezhava community after the conflict and days of exploitation are narrated. The main theme is around a joint family. Its fall and disintegration due to the inevitables and finally the rise of the individuals in different walks of life. Initially the story has a Thakazhi touch but later it is different and own style.
