A very well thought out social history of kerala. I am not a historian or anthropologist to talk about the right or wrong of the picture presented by the authour. Author provides proper detailing and a logically coherent view of history of kerala. I hope this book gets translated to English and gets proper attention to the arguments of the author.

This book almost cost, the author's life, and much effort had been taken to write it. A deeply researched work with an excellent analysis of a pre-modern Kerala society. While doing so, it naturally debunked the glory of the ancient kingdoms and elucidate the different dynamics of the caste system.

Very objective, non biased, eye-opening work on the emergence of Kerala's social structure...
