‘महाराष्ट्र टाइम्स’चे तब्बल 29 वर्षे संपादकपद भूषविलेल्या गोविंदराव तळवलकर यांनी महाराष्ट्रातील दोन-तीन पिढ्यांना तरी इंग्रजी वाचनाकडे वळवण्यात मोठे योगदान दिले आहे. निवृत्तीनंतर ते अमेरिकेत स्थायिक झाले होते.. 2007 च्या सुरुवातीला ते दोन महिन्यांसाठी भारतात आले होते, तेव्हा 23 एप्रिल या जागतिक पुस्तक दिनाच्या निमित्ताने, साधनाच्या साने गुरुजी सभागृहात 'माझे वाचन' या विषयावर त्यांचे भाषण झाले होते, ते भाषण शब्दांकन करून साधना साप्ताहिकात प्रसिद्ध केले होते. त्या भाषणाचे हे आॕडिओ बुक केले आहे ज्येष्ठ रंगकर्मी - अभिनेते 'गजानन परांजपे' यांच्या आवाजात.

Govind Talwalkar worked as the editor of Maharashtra Times (a Marathi daily) for almost 29 years. He worked in various capacities and his main contribution is the introduction of English literature and western thoughts to Marathi readers. After his retirement, he settled in the USA. While his last visit to India he delivered a speech in Pune, on 23rd April 2007 on the topic "My Reading." This speech was published in Weekly Sadhana. This is the audio of that speech, read by Gajanan Paranjape.
